Purchased a few design books recently – in readiness for the cold, dark winter nights when I’m curled up in front of the fire.
Only one problem. I don’t have a fire.
Will have to make do curled up on the sofa under my wife’s Slanket.

Chocolate Creative Calderdale

Recently had the honour of designing the next event invite for Creative Calderdale.
The main speaker at the next event is Mark Palmer – the man behind the brand success of Green & Black’s chocolate.
Therefore, for the design of the invite, we decided to go down the route of replicating a Green & Black’s chocolate bar wrapper . Seemed like the most logical thing to do really.
The Creative Calderdale event is being held at Todmorden Town Hall on Tuesday 18th January 2011. The events starts at 6pm. Contact Hannah at Creative Calderdale for more information.
iTunes 10 Logo
Posted by: | CommentsI’m really surprised about the amount of flack Apple are taking for their updated iTunes logo.
What’s wrong with it? Looks pretty good to me. Plus, it’s visually consistent with the iTunes logo on the iOS devices.
The problem is, Apple have become so big in people’s eyes (in particular the media), that everything they do nowadays is scrutinised with a microscope. Just look at the media furore surrounding the recent ‘Antennagate’ issue. You don’t see Sony getting that much negative media when they recall yet another batch of laptop batteries.
Looking across the dock on my Mac, there are dozens of app icons down there that are worthy of a stern critique.
Happy 20th Birthday to Photoshop

The image editing powerhouse celebrates it’s 20th birthday this month.
As someone who uses Photoshop day-in, day-out and has done so for the past 16 years, Adobe Photoshop deserves a big birthday kiss on the menu bar!!
Quite frankly, I don’t know where I’d be without you?
Many happy returns PS, here’s to another twenty years of cleaning up photos and adding lens flare to my graphics (joke!).
