Built From Nothing

Recently completed the design work on the latest Creative Calderdale event invite.

The main speaker at the next event is Will Alsop OBE, award-winning architect.

Here’s Creative Calderdale’s blurp about the event:

Award-winning architect, Will Alsop will join Creative Calderdale to talk about his career, his inspiration and his creative vision for satellite towns like Halifax.

Throughout his career, Will has specialised in large-scale master plans and regeneration projects for boroughs and districts in Rotterdam, Berlin, Manchester, Middlesbrough, and Barnsley – for which he won the 2003 Architects’ Journal Award for Architecture. Yet, it is iconic and irreverent designs such as the Glenwood Power Plant in Yonkers, New York and the Sharp Centre for Design for the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto that have established him as a visionary in the field of architecture.

Alongside his architecture practice, Alsop’s paintings and sketches have been exhibited in dedicated exhibitions at Sir John Soane’s Museum, Milton Keynes GalleryCube Gallery in Manchester, and the British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, among other venues.

The Creative Calderdale event is being held at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, Halifax on Thursday 15th August 2013. The events starts at 6pm. Contact Hannah Crank at Creative Calderdale for more information.
